Every year on the third week of October the BACCHUS Network promotes it’s National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness week. This is a good opportunity to coordinate events at your school with information on:
- Responsible drinking
- Signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning
- Designated driver information for the area
- College life and alcohol
- Alcohol 101
This may also be a great opportunity to highlight common misconceptions and beliefs when it comes to alcohol use among college students.
Recent research from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health shows that a majority of college students do not report high levels of binge drinking and that over the past 10 years, binge drinking rates have decreased by 13%. You can read more about it here.
