Tale from the DUDE Side by Alexandra Bowden
Two of my friends were drinking and ended up driving. Unfortunately, one of them did not make it. My mom raised me to always understand that I should never drink and drive, but having experiences the loss of a friend in a drunk driving car crash showed me just how easy it is to put your life, and others, in danger when you drink and drive or drive distracted.
People think it will never happen to them, but we can’t think like that. The only way we can prevent these type of car crashes is making the safe and healthy decision to not drive impaired or distracted.
When I’m out drinking, my friends and I either use UBER or we designate a driver. I think it’s important to talk about the plan of how you are getting from place to place before people start drinking.
