All the Signs Were Ignored

A week before I was going to take the driving test to get my license, a man ran a yield sign and T-boned my car. It was around 7:30 in the morning and he said he was tired and didn’t see the sign, he was also using his phone to navigate to wherever he was going. My mom was in the passenger seat, which was the side that was impacted and her arm was bruised really bad.

Be Safe Texas signsI got a minor concussion and I do not remember how I ended up on the side of the road. The man who hit me came to help me out of the car and realized how young I was. He expressed to my mom how sorry he was because he wouldn’t know what to do with himself if something like this happened to his daughter. My crash wasn’t super serious, but it was the result of distracted and drowsy driving. My car was totaled and 4 years later I still haven’t gotten the courage to get behind the wheel of a car because something bad can happen any second.

My crash could have been avoided if the driver was alert!

True story shared to the U in the Driver Seat website by a Baylor University student.
