Tell us why you’ve been active in preventing impaired driving with UDS, another organization, or on your own.

“I have been personally touched by drunk driving when I lost my uncle to a car accident where he was hit by a drunk driver. It is very important to me to educate people that they have choices when they drink and that there are safe alternatives. I want people to have fun and be safe!”

Tell us what you have learned about being a DUDE or helping others be a DUDE.

“When I go out with my friends, I try to make sure that we have a designated driver. We alternate who is going to be designated driver and make it worth our drivers time by making sure that we all pitch in and pay for the food and non-alcoholic drinks for them for the night. It is nice to know that we aren’t scrambling at the end of the night to try to figure out how to get home. We all have fun and get home safe!”
