6 reasons why walking is better than driving

National Walking Day occurs the first Wednesday of April every year. Which means that this year it falls on April 1, 2020, but this is not an April Fool’s joke. We hope to convince you to take part in walking on April 1st.

Did you know…
Walking improves your health, like reducing heart disease, stress, calories… need I say more?

Walking allows you to see the beauty in things you never noticed before. While your eyes are up looking at the road, notice the beauty of road design. Appreciate the sidewalks, crosswalks, signs and signals built for your safety.

Walking helps you appreciate other road users and learn each person’s responsibilities on the road.

Walking reduces your carbon footprint.

Walking saves gas money.

Walking gets you out of the house during the COVID-19 quarantine, but keeps you socially distant.

Remember, walking isn’t just for National Walking Day! You can walk any day of the year and the benefits are year-round. Share other benefits of walking in our comments section.
