2016-2017 Collegiate Advisory Board Application

CAB-feat Join U in the Driver Seat to help end the number one killer of college students: car crashes.

U in the Driver Seat (UDS) is a collegiate peer-to-peer program dedicated to reducing drinking and driving fatalities on college campuses. We are committed to fighting the number-one killer of college-age students in America but we need your help! Our efforts can only succeed with the involvement and commitment of students who are represented by the UDS Collegiate Advisory Board.

What is the time commitment?

We know you’re busy and have a lot going on so we’re not asking for a lot of time on your end. Just enough time to give us your input in quarterly meetings (1-2 hours per meeting). You don’t even have to drive anywhere and can join from the comfort of your home through a toll-free conference call or the web. But, if you want to see a friendly face, you can show up in-person by meeting at one of the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) regional offices. TTI offices are located in Austin, College Station, Dallas, El Paso, Houston and San Antonio.

What am I going to get to do?

As a CAB member you’ll have the honor of being involved in development of new program materials, safety messages, promotional items and all other related elements. You also get to be in charge of organizing UDS program activities on your own campus and within your community. We’ll also pick your brain on ways to successfully engage college students because who knows better than you?

What do I get out of it?

Other than helping to save the lives of your fellow classmates, you’ll be able to list your experience as a CAB member on your resume as proof of your great leadership skills. We’ll also give you a fancy title like “Ambassador of Traffic Safety” or “Leader of Traffic Safety” which’ll look pretty snazzy on your resume. In addition, all active CAB members become qualified to win a scholarship! Should we have said that first?

Where do I sign up?

The CAB application is now closed. Please watch for future announcements.
