How to host a Kahoot Trivia, LIVE

Here’s a quick guide on how to host a Kahoot! Trivia challenge in your home and at the comfort of your own computer. Don’t have a Kahoot account, learn how to create a FREE EDUCATORS account, here.

Watch this quick 1 minute video on How to Play Kahoot!

First Step:

Pick a day and time to promote your Kahoot! Trivia. Promote it at least a week in advance and maybe tie it to another learning exercise or happy hour. If you can gift a reward to the winner that will really entice people to play.

Step 2:

Select your video conferencing/chat platform. Make sure you have a good internet connection and that you can share your screen. This is how people will see the questions and results as you play trivia together, LIVE.

Step 3:

On Trivia Day – Log in to your Kahoot profile and go to the Discover Tab.  Search the UDS trivia you wish to play: UDS Impaired Driving Trivia or UDS Shut up and Drive Trivia Challenge. Select the 3 dots on the right of the game to Play.

Step 4:

You’ll receive this pop-up (below) and you need to select “Teach.”

Step 5:

You’ll be prompted to select Classic or Team mode. Select CLASSIC mode, and adjust other settings as you see fit. *Do not randomize questions.*

Step 6:

Share your screen with attendees on your video chat call and give them your unique pin that will appear on the screen. Once all players are in the Kahoot! game room you can START.

We hope you enjoy our new Kahoot! Challenges. Don’t forget to submit an activity form to get All-Star credit!

If you’re having trouble, please reach out to your regional rep for help.
