Who can join UDS?
College departments, student organizations or professional groups, health and wellness centers, Residence Life, and more can sign-up for UDS. Texas and Washington colleges only qualify for resource kits and rewards at this time, but if you’re interested in getting access to our member portal resources, please reach out to [email protected].
How much does UDS cost?
U in the Driver Seat is a free program thanks to a mix of private and public sector funding. Only Texas and Washington colleges qualify for resource kits and rewards at this time.
What resources are available in the Member Portal?
The member portal has downloadable materials like print and social media toolkits. It’s where you can access rewarded activity guides and report those activities completed. It’s also where you can receive recent news and announcements from our program, like scholarship and leadership opportunities.
Is there a cost to access the Member Portal?
Access is granted to members who sign up for the UDS program. Campus organizations sign up using our form and must provide at least one primary contact who will be given access to the Member Portal. If you’re not from a campus organization or department and wish to have access to the UDS Member Portal, please contact [email protected].

What email address should I use when registering?
A Microsoft account is recommended to ensure the best access experience. Your student or staff email address is most likely to be an Outlook account, but if you’re unsure, just use your preferred email address at sign-up, and we will reach out to you.
Can I use my school, university, or organization Microsoft account?
Yes.
Do I need a Microsoft account?
Yes. A Microsoft account is required to ensure access to the UDS Member Portal. If you do not already have a Microsoft account, you can create a free Microsoft account using your existing Gmail or other personal email address—you do not need to create a new Outlook email account.
How do I create a free Microsoft account using my Gmail address?
Simply visit https://signup.live.com, register using your Gmail address, and complete the email verification process.
Will I receive a confirmation email after enrolling?
Yes – Be on the lookout for your Welcome Journey with instructions on how to access the portal, get involved in UDS, and be successful in traffic safety outreach.
