Before you and your friends head out for Spring Break, here are some ways you can help spread the word about driving impaired and help keep everyone safe.
Spring Break For What!
It’s that time of year again, time for everyone to forget the burdens of school, jump in your trucks and head to the coast for a week of awesomeness, adventure, sun, and partying. Just remember, don’t let the excitement get to your head, one of the biggest risks with the college experience of spring break is the binge drinking.
DUIs in Texas
All too often, we have that friend that says they are totally cool to drive. “It was only a few drinks, don’t worry” they say. Sometimes, they get lucky and get home safe, other times, not so much.
In 2013 there were a total of 2,760 people involved in alcohol related DUIs in Texas*…
No Refusal
No refusal has been enacted in cities around the state and gives law enforcement a fast-track to draw blood if they suspect someone of impaired driving. This means if you get pulled over and are asked to take an impairment test or breath test and refuse, you will be immediately taken to have blood drawn. Judges are on call to issue warrants just for this purpose so there is no way you can get out of it.
